Think about your project in the shower, on the way to the grocery store, as we fall asleep at night. Debate and discuss every detail with each other from knocking down a wall to building a custom sofa to the color and placement of a light switch. Order, install, accessorize. Reveal. Ooh and ahh. Take photos. Make sure you're thrilled with your fabulous yet functional new space. Rinse and repeat for the next project.}

Recently Doreen met and interviewed top lighting designer Bentley Meeker, the man behind celebrity weddings (Michael Douglas & Catherine Zeta-Jones), events for Christian Dior and HBO (the Sex & The City premiere party) and numerous other galas, special events and charity concerts. He graciously shared his tips on lighting your own home and events. Top advice: Dimmers are a girl’s (and a room’s and a party’s) best friend. We couldn’t agree more.
